How To Purchase

Adaptive Passes are season-long passes that offer access to our resorts at a discounted rate for Pass Holders with permanent disabilities. 
Anyone determined to have a permanent disability that severely limits one or more major life activities is eligible for an Adaptive Pass. Vail Resorts qualifies a permanent disability as a permanent physical, mental, or sensory impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, such as caring for oneself, performing manual tasks, walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, breathing, learning, or working. 
There are three ways to purchase an Adaptive Pass:  

Online: New this season, Adaptive Passes can be purchased online at EpicPass.com. Once purchased, be sure to upload a photo to your account and enter a shipping address so your pass can be shipped prior to your arrival at the resort.  

Phone: Call 970-754-0005 to confirm your pass type and pay with a credit card. 

Mail: Email VailAdaptiveProgram@vailresorts.com to request your 2021-22 Adaptive Pass Application. Upon receiving, please print and mail the application, denoting your pass type, along with payment to the address below. Please allow up to three weeks for processing.

For online and phone orders: After purchasing, please email VailAdaptiveProgram@vailresorts.com to request your 2021-22 Adaptive Pass Application. Please email the completed application with a scanned copy of your verification documents back to VailAdaptiveProgram@vailresorts.com. You can also take the completed application to any Vail Resorts Season Pass office with the relevant verification documents to get your Adaptive Pass.  
 
If ordered online, you will receive your pass in the mail after we’ve received your application and verified your documents. 

Please note, Adaptive Passes will not be active until a current-season Adaptive Pass application has been received and documentation has been verified.

For online and phone orders: After purchasing, please email VailAdaptiveProgram@vailresorts.com to request your 2021-22 Adaptive Pass Application and take the completed application to any Vail Resorts season pass office. Upon receipt of payment & submission of your signed 2021-2022 Adaptive Season Pass Application, your 2020-2021 season pass card will be re-activated, if purchasing the same pass type. 

Please note, Adaptive season passes will not be active until a current-season Adaptive Pass application has been received and documentation has been verified. 

For guests who have received lifetime verification, please follow one of the purchase processes above. Following your purchase, please email VailAdaptiveProgram@vailresorts.com to indicate you have purchased a pass for the 2021-2022 season instead of submitting an Adaptive Pass Application. 
  • Driver’s license noting restrictions 
  • Golden Access Passport (issued by the Department of the Interior for accessing National Parks) 
  • Certification from a private Vocational Rehabilitation or other Counselor that states that the person needs an accommodation 
  • Request / Documentation from a State Vocational Rehabilitation Agency counselor 
  • Letter or record from a Federal Government agency that reflects the person has a disability 
  • Letters or medical notes from physician's/medical professionals that request accommodation 
  • Power mobile device is being used for a mobility disability 
  • Other state-issued proof of disability 
  • Visual observation of disability or power mobile device being used for a mobility disability (Only available for in-person purchases; no additional documents needed)

Every Adaptive Pass gives you the ability to purchase one Guide/Companion lift ticket per day for a reduced price. The Guide/Companion ticket can be purchased in advance by calling 970-754-0005, or day-of at the ticket window. The Guide/Companion must be assisting the Adaptive Pass Holder at all times on the mountain.  

Note, the Guide/Companion lift ticket might not be available at all partner resorts. Please check with the resort directly with questions about availability.
