How to Purchase Your Adaptive Pass

For visual impairments, guests who are legally blind (20/200 in the good eye) to totally blind qualify, as defined by the ADA. Please note that physician diagnosis is required. Wearing corrective lenses does not alone qualify you as disabled by the ADA standards.

Select from a range of Adaptive Pass options designed to fit how and where you ski or ride. With six Pass types available—including full access, regional access, and multi-day options, you can choose the experience that works best for you. Eligible Passes include Pass Holder perks like on-mountain savings, Epic Coverage for added peace of mind, and access to shareable benefit tickets—including discounted Companion Tickets and Epic Friend Tickets.
Adaptive Passes can be purchased online at EpicPass.com or by phone at (970) 754-0005. After purchasing, your Pass will be activated once eligibility has been verified, required documents have been submitted, and a signed release and photo are on file.

What is an Adaptive Pass?
Adaptive Passes are season-long passes that offer access to our resorts at a discounted rate for Pass Holders with permanent disabilities as defined by the ADA. Vail Resorts qualifies a permanent disability as a permanent physical, mental, or sensory impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, such as caring for oneself, performing manual tasks, walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, breathing, learning, or working.
All Adaptive Pass Holders can purchase one Guide/Companion lift ticket per day for a reduced price at all Vail Resorts owned and operated resorts. This ticket can be purchased the day-of at the ticket window. The Guide/Companion must be assisting the Adaptive Pass Holder at all times on the mountain.
Note, a discounted Guide/Companion lift ticket might not be available Partner resorts and we encourage you to check directly with the Partner resort prior to your planned arrival to confirm access and benefits.
Am I eligible for an Adaptive Pass?
Adaptive Passes are season-long passes that offer access to our resorts at a discounted rate for Pass Holders with permanent disabilities.
Anyone determined to have a permanent disability that severely limits one or more major life activities is eligible for an Adaptive Pass. Vail Resorts qualifies a permanent disability as a permanent physical, mental, or sensory impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, such as caring for oneself, performing manual tasks, walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, breathing, learning, or working.

How do I purchase an Adaptive Pass if I have never had one?
There are two ways to purchase an Adaptive Pass:
Online: Adaptive Passes can be purchased online at EpicPass.com. Once purchased, be sure to upload a photo to your account and enter a shipping address so your Pass can be shipped prior to your arrival at the resort. Please note, your Pass will not be shipped until we have verified your eligibility, and you have submitted a photo and signed the Electronic Release of Liability. New this season, Adaptive Pass Holders can enroll in Auto Renew at the time of purchase.

Once purchased, we will need to verify your eligibility, which can be done online or in-person, before activating your Pass:

If you are a renewing Pass Holder who has not been approved with a permanent disability, we will need to verify your eligibility, which can be done online or in-person, before activating your pass:

What documentation do I need to submit to verify my eligibility for an Adaptive Pass?
Pass Holders must present one of the following forms of documentation to validate eligibility requirements. Vail Resorts will accept documents emailed to VailAdaptiveProgram@vailresorts.com. Alternatively, guests can present their qualifying document(s) to a ticket window.

Do Adaptive Passes receive Partner Resort access?
Epic Adaptive Pass Holders receive access to Telluride, Resorts of the Canadian Rockies, Skirama Dolomiti, Les 3 Vallees, Verbier 4 Vallées, Disentis, Hakuba Valley and Rusutsu. No other Adaptive Pass products provide access to partner resorts. Prior to visiting, we encourage you to contact our partner resorts directly to learn more about access to their mountains. Do Adaptive Passes have any peak date restrictions?
Yes, the Adaptive Northeast Value Pass is subject to the same peak date restrictions as the Northeast Value Pass. The Epic Adaptive Pass, Epic Adaptive 5 Day Pass, Epic Adaptive 5 Day Limited Access Pass, Adaptive Tahoe Pass, and Adaptive Midwest Pass all include holiday access.
Does my Adaptive Pass come with lift access for a guide or companion?
All Adaptive Pass Holders can purchase one Guide/Companion lift ticket per day for a reduced price at all Vail Resorts owned and operated resorts. Yes, select Adaptive Passes come with 10 Epic Friend Tickets for friends and family. These passes include Epic Adaptive Pass, Adaptive Tahoe Pass, Adaptive Northeast Value Pass, and Adaptive Midwest Pass.

Does my Adaptive Epic Pass include Epic Coverage?

Do I get Epic Mountain Rewards with my Adaptive Pass?
Yes. Adaptive Pass Holders are eligible for Epic Mountain Rewards. To learn more about Epic Mountain Rewards, please visit: https://www.epicpass.com/benefits/epic-mountain-rewards.aspx.
Please note, Adaptive Passes will not be active, and therefore will be ineligible for benefits, until we’ve verified your eligibility. Please email VailAdaptiveProgram@vailresorts.com to submit qualifying documents or request your Pass be activated (for Pass Holders who have been approved with a permanent disability).
How can I sign up for an Adaptive lesson or ski and ride program?
Please contact the resort where you are planning to ski or ride for more information regarding available Adaptive lessons or programs. We encourage all skiers and riders to reserve lessons early as availability is limited.

New this season, Adaptive Pass Holders can enroll in Auto Renew at the time of purchase.
