The following Australian military personnel and their families qualify for a Military Epic Pass:

  • Active Duty (full-time): A person who is currently serving on active duty in the military full-time in Australian Defence Force (ADF)
  • ADF full-time active-duty personnel or active reservists serving in Royal Australian Navy (RAN), Australian Army, or Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) and has a valid ADF Identification card (C20) or active orders.
  • Reservists/Reserve Forces: A person in the ADF Reserve Forces – who may not be deployed, but can be called up at any time. Members of the ADF Reserve Forces are eligible for the Military Epic Pass (Active/Retired/Dependant) if they are currently serving in the Reserves.

  • Retired:
  • Australian Defence Force (ADF): a person serving 18 or more years in the ADF, or has qualified for this status through the ADF. They must have Retired Member identity cards – issued to all members separating from the ADF (reservists excluded) who have a Level 3 entitlement under the Career Transition Assistance Scheme provision contained in the ADF PACMAN Chapter 2.
  • ADF Dependant: Registered Dependants of qualifying ADF Active/Retired Military members, including spouse and child dependants. Parents of military members are not included, as well as children who are no longer dependant. Age/eligibility of child dependants are listed below.

Who qualifies for the Military Epic Pass for Veterans and Veteran Dependants?

The following International military personnel and their families qualify for a Military Epic Pass:

  • Veteran: A person who served in the active military/reserve forces and who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable.
  • ADF: former members of the ADF who released with honorable discharge. Includes former reservists who hold a standby reserve identity card.
  • Dependant: Immediate family of Veteran Military members, including spouse and any child dependants. Parents of military members are not included, as well as children who are no longer dependant.

What are age/eligibility requirements of Child Dependants in the Military?

Vail Resorts does not define this. We are relying on military definitions and eligibility as defined by the Australian military, who individually defines dependant children as:

  • ADF: dependant children of the ADF member who are under 21 years. The military member’s spouse's or partner's children are also included in this definition as are older children who have been qualified by the ADF as dependant due to a disability.
  • Children who are 18+ will still be required to purchase an adult dependant pass. Child pricing is available for Military Epic Pass – Veteran for Child dependants under the age of 18.

What if I am a service member or dependant in Australia?

Service members and their dependants from Australia will be eligible for the Military Epic Pass offering. They are not included in the Liberty Pass offering.

I am a qualifying Military Dependant. What if the service member doesn’t buy a Military Epic Pass? Will I still be able to?

Yes, we want to honor all families who have members who are serving or who have served. With proper dependant verification, you and your family can still purchase the appropriate Military Epic Pass (for United States Uniformed Forces and service members of Australia or Canada and their dependants).

Are any other country’s military organizations eligible?

Members of the U.S. Uniformed Forces, the Canadian Armed Forces, and the Australian Defence Force are currently eligible for the Military Epic Pass.

How will Australian verification work?

For Australian service member verification, you will have to provide accepted forms of ID that validate your military or dependant status as defined above.
